Sustainability doesn't mean sacrifice!

Yes, sustainability can also be stylish – a fact that the Valsana Hotel Arosa proves with aplomb. When constructing the hotel in 2017, we focused on maximising our use of sustainable Swiss materials and products as well as on incorporating a forward-looking energy concept. To this end, the Valsana Hotel is proud to feature a unique ice thermal storage system for heat recovery in combination with geothermal probes. It means that the entire hotel is CO2 neutral – from check-in to check-out.

The hotel also partners with myClimate to support various projects across Switzerland and around the globe, including a peat bog restoration project in Neuchâtel and a mountain gorilla initiative in Rwanda. Hotel guests have the opportunity to plant a tree by making a voluntary donation when booking online, thereby making their own contribution to ecological sustainability.

The hotel uses almost no paper, with communication instead occurring digitally via tablets. Guests sleep on Elky Natur mattresses, while special ‘phone beds’ reduce radiation around the sheets. Guests are also offered a free charging station for electric vehicles, and our restaurant endeavours to source regional ingredients all year round.

Thanks to these efforts, it is not just our guest stays that are 100% sustainable: we at the Valsana Hotel are also proud to offer earth-friendly meetings and events. Green meetings in our Ideas Workshop promise fruitful hours of collaboration in an inspiring setting. Beyond business trips, we can work with you to bring a whole range of celebrations to life, from birthday parties to weddings and anniversaries. Each event is executed in characteristic Valsana style – and, of course, with a focus on peaceful coexistence with nature.
