Sustainability in inner-city Basel

Any visitor to the SET Hotel.Residence by Teufelhof Basel will quickly realise that this is an establishment where social and ecological sustainability are not merely buzzwords, but living realities. The hotel has its own production facilities that use raw materials from the region to supply products for the region; it sponsors a nonprofit association to promote workplace integration, and it offers an extensive range of mobility options – just a few examples of many. 

The bread, cheese and beer served to guests are produced by the hotel itself, which has its own confectionery/bakery, and also operates its own dairy and brewery. Through the MALIAN Association, the hotel aims to integrate and support individuals who have limited earning capacity in everyday working life due to personal, health-related, social and (socio)political reasons. Guests are also encouraged to travel sustainably to the hotel, which offers a comprehensive range of mobility options: visitors can explore Basel "under their own steam" with the bikes offered by the hotel, EGO Movement e-bikes, or the urban smart EQ powered by Kestenholz.
