Sustainability here is closely linked to the region — in construction, operations, and partnerships. The vision aims to revive sustainable timber-frame construction in the Appenzell region: a building style based on locally sourced moon-dried wood, considered one of the most ecological hotel constructions. In addition, the house focuses on forward-looking energy generation through efficient heat pumps and modern photovoltaic systems.

Resource efficiency is also a priority in the spa: innovative technology allows heated outdoor pools to be drained overnight, using energy in an especially efficient way. Across all areas, emphasis is placed on local products, regional value creation, and partnerships. Through collaboration with the Appenzeller Forum, regional producers and cultural offerings are deliberately integrated to further strengthen local diversity.
