Enjoyment with a clear conscience

The Hotel Widder in Zurich’s Old Town skilfully combines traditional and modern elements – and enables its guests to enjoy a sustainable stay. Food served to the hotel’s guests is based on a farm-to-table concept. Farms belonging to the Living Circle hotel group supply the hotels with first-class foods every day. Thanks to this arrangement, ingredients produced by the group itself are used to prepare many of the creations that come from the kitchen – including pasta, eggs and meat as well as wine and spirits.

The hotel makes use of the KITRO programme to reduce daily food wastage: food residues are measured as the basis for ongoing optimization. The hotel’s on-site «Restaurant-Boucherie AuGust» serves only Swiss products. The Widder has a long tradition of involvement in the local community – and the annual Widder Ball is one example of this. The entire proceeds from the event are always donated to charitable foundations. The Widder maintains partnerships with many organisations including myclimate, the NOW association, Swisstainable and SapoCycle.
