Get to know the world of the Responsible Hotels of Switzerland.
Founded in 1936 near Gstaad, the establishment is now in its third generation and has four different chalets and more than 40 rooms. This traditional hotel enjoys a secluded location in the small farming community of Saanenmöser in Saanenland. The outdoor area offers plenty of space to linger and relax. The owners and hosts Brigitte and Christian Hoefliger-von Siebenthal are hoteliers through and through and are also very involved with matters outside their own company. For example, they worked for several years on the committee of the Gstaad-Saanenland Hotel Association and on the foundation board of the Hotel Management School in Thun. They are also on various committees for the collective in the region.
Along with other hotels, Hotel Hornberg is part of the "regional development" project with the Bernese Farmers' Association and the Canton of Bern. Whenever available, local food is prepared and served in the hotel's restaurant. The renowned Gault Millau restaurant guide awarded the restaurant 13 points in 2023. For relaxation, guests can use the rustic-style wellness area, which includes an indoor pool, bio sauna, Finnish sauna, steam bath, outdoor Kneipp fountain and a bio swimming pond in the garden. A conversion to enable the maximum use of photovoltaics is planned for spring 2023.
The hotel trains apprentices in the areas of commercial education, hotel and restaurant management, as chefs and in hotel communications. It also supports them in their personal development after completing their apprenticeship with paid further training. All employees enjoy coordinated development opportunities such as internal instruction, qualifications for the teams and further training offers. The aim is for them to be satisfied and active in the company for as long as possible.
